Good move by Ford. Investing in technologies like hybrids is what Ford needs to do to turn themselves around.

Well their Escape Hybrid is currently the most fuel-efficient SUV on the market; even the 4WD gets better mileage than the 2WD Highlander Hybrid. According to fueleconomy.gov's user-submitted mileage data, both Escape Hybrids get 31-33 mpg, whereas the 2WD HH gets 26 mpg. Consumer Reports got similar results.

Bill Ford has been all over my TV set, talking high-tech.

If it's real, their timing couldn't be better vis-a-vis GM (even if 30 years late in real time).

More power to 'em. Maybe there's hope. He's going out on a limb somewhat.
