My front brake pads are finally in need of replacement.

With some rebates and discounts I can get a set of Wagner Thermo Quiet pads for about $22 or the Advance Auto Parts brand Wearever Platinum Cermaic pads for about $28. I have used the Wagners on some other vehicles and have been happy with their performance and wear and they dont seem to shed a lot of break dust either.

So I'm leaning towards the Wagners or do you think I might just be better off sticking to OEM and getting the Toyota pads?

    Thank you.

I would go with OEM. You do not say how many miles you have done on the car but if you work out the cost per mile on those, trying to save money on a component that is critical on the Prius for smooth transition from regen braking to friction braking is not worth the possible trouble.

Brake dust problems do not exist on the Prius.
