This is sure to get the homophobes and fundamentalists riled up. Carlos and Fernando, a gay flamingo couple, was deemed to be the best parents for an abandoned chick at a wildfowl preserve in England. I'm sure that the adoption would be prohibited in some states here. Apparently, it is not uncommon for flamingoes to be gay.
