Hello afunny thing happened to my prius to day After driving for a
distances I parked for a few min-nits then i started the prius selected
drive accelerated the prius and it jumped out of gear and went into
neutral i then put it back into drive and it jumped out again. I held the
gear lever in the drive position and it was OK but i am still holding on
to the gear lever, I then put it into reverse it was OK,I tried
using the drive again and all is OK again I was able to drive home and
as i said before everything is OK. Has anyone had a similar trouble .

That's really odd. You need to have the looked at.
Any car that falls out of gear should be corrected as quickly as possible.

As for what's causing it, I can't begin to imagine.

You *are* letting the lever go back to its rest position, right?
If you select "D" and then let the lever move back too slowly,
the "neutral timeout" will kick in while you're lagging movement
in the "gate" between N and the rest position. Shift fairly
briskly and *LET GO* and make sure the lever returns to its
middle-right position. You have about a half-second to finish it.
    .
If it's still dropping to neutral, then that means the position
sensor for that axis isn't working right. Can you shift to B?
If you can dig in far enough to access the connectors on the back
of the shift selector, you could try reseating them. Another
diagnosis of a physical/electrical problem might be banging on the
dash to see if you can trigger the problem.
    .
But initially we can't discount the possibility of pilot training..
