Ok, so this morning i went for a ride, long story short the red triangle light came on with my engine light. Hooked a code scanner up to it and come up with nothing. And now i drive it with the same lights on but now the emergency brake light comes up and beeps and the car automatically shifts into neutral and after a short time of losing speed it comes back and i am able to shift into drive and keep driving, what the hell has gone wrong with this car.

2004 prius 227000miles new hybrid batt. well maintained full of oil and every other fluid ,.

please help me find a solution

no way of knowing, without testing it. put a voltmeter on the jumpoints under the hood after the car has been off for a few hours. how old is the 12v?

mini vci, w/toyota tech stream code reading. see amazon, it's the only thing that works properly on prius. and you run it on an old windows laptop. otherwise, you have to pay the dealer to read the codes.

unlikely to be 12 years old. but there's a code on top. either way, it's good or it isn't.
