    The traction battery is the high-voltage one responsible for moving the car. Most commodity inverters want a 12 volt input, so you will not connect those to the traction battery, but instead to the 12 volt battery.

    People with higher power needs sometimes do connect a (less common, more specialized) inverter to the traction battery instead. If you think you might be one of those people, this is your thread: Electric power from a hybrid, connecting inverter to the high-voltage system | PriusChat
