In normal operation, my indicators work fine. When the headlights are on, the right rear indicator operates when the left indicator is on and the left era indicator operates when the right indicator is on. If I turn off the headlights then the indicators work normally again. Anyone have any idea how to correct it?

Do you have any mates with electrical experience who like to prank you?

It's hard for me to think of another explanation.

First thing I would do is check voltage drop at the ground circuits for each light under load. If there's a high resistance connection for ground, then you can have voltage back feeding the turn signals when the parking or headlights are on.
