I swear that's how he won the elections he won here. He preached good ol' boy raisin', guns, and football. It got all the bubbas in this lovely red state riled. They'd all be appalled if they realized that he too, like a lot of his ilk, was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and most of his "Southern" charm is affected. He wasn't raised in the South at all but in California. He adopted Virginia as his home state when he went to UVA. I have no problem with that, btw, I just hate how he turned on this ol' boy act to get votes.
