The recent debate that "Global Warming Is Not A Crisis" is now available in audio format on NPR.

It should be noted that the "skeptics" won the day in this debate, converting a considerable numbers of believers in the audience to their position that Global Warming Is Not A Crisis.

Other new research of interest regarding global warming:

Global warming may actually "sap" - not intensify hurricanes - a position endorsed by Lindzen in the NPR debate and also endorsed by renowned hurricane experts William Gray and Chris Landsea.

Kilamanjaro ice melt predictions "overly pessimistic" ""About five years ago Kilimanjaro was being used as an icon for global warming. We know now that this was far too simplistic a view..."

Every politician and good seller (whether it be an idea or product) knows that you don't need sound arguments to "win" a debate in front of your average crowd... they just have to sound good.

Why some don't even bat an eye about the history of misinformation from 'skeptics' is beyond me.

These attacks on Lindzen are ridiculous and unjustified, but typical (it is always easier to attack the source than the argument, since attacking the argument would require some intellectual effort). I have asked Lindzen directly about this and he admitted that in hindsight, allowing Western Fuels to cover his trip to DC to testify before Congress was a mistake. But that doesn't make him an industry stooge. Ross Gelbspan, whose bias is legend, has relentlessly pounded Lindzen. Lindzen says he seriously considered suing Gelbspan for libel but at the time did not have the money. "Such is life", he lamented.

Lindzen I will remind you is a highly regarded, if controversial, player in this field. But I'll remind you that he has been a past contributor to the IPCC and has an impressive bio (fromWikipedia):

"He has published papers on Hadley circulation, monsoon meteorology, planetary atmospheres, hydrodynamic instability, mid-latitude weather, global heat transport, the water cycle, and their roles in climate change, ice ages, seasonal atmospheric effects,.[2]

He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Science and Economic Advisory Council of the Annapolis Center for Science-Based Public Policy.[3] He previously held positions at the University of Chicago and Harvard University, and was a contributer to Chapter 4 of the "IPCC Second Assessment", "Climate Change 1995". He is known for pioneering the study of ozone photochemistry,[4] and advised several student theses on the subject.[5]

Prof. Lindzen is a recipient of the AMS's Meisinger, and Charney Awards, and AGU's Macelwane Medal. He is a corresponding member of the NAS Committee on Human Rights, a member of the NRC Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, and a Fellow of the AAAS1. He is a consultant to the Global Modeling and Simulation Group at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, and a Distinguished Visiting Scientist at California Institute of Technology's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. (Ph.D., '64, S.M., '61, A.B., '60, Harvard University)"

If you have a sound argument regarding the idea that global warming does or does not affect hurricane frequency and/or intensity, please make it. Otherwise, please stop the childish personal attacks on highly credible experts in the field.

Probably considered it a mistake because it shows 'where the money goes.'
