So Bob Lutz is not alone at GM screaming "the sky is falling".

The auto industry will survive...only question is will GM stop whining and take action?

Yes the prices will because the U.S. manufacturers have sat on their 1980 technology and instead of being innovative.

Way to price yourselves even further out of the market GM.

I suppose there's a reason that they are number two in the world now.

GM...they deserve to go the way of the Dodo.

In the postwar economy they were in the driver's seat and they blew it. Their senior managers should never get bonuses/have their salaries docked with the serious mismanagement that's been part of the executive culture there for the last 30 years.

The thing that bites is that there are a lot of good workers that will suffer because of the short sightedness of their managers.

If they can't sell the car for $25,000 what makes them think they can sell it for $35,000? Yes, they will have to pay more to produce a higher quality vehicle and they will probably have to lengthen the warranty to assure buyers that the quality has improved. Now all they have to do is cut the waste of building what doesn't sell and start building what the market wants. Even money bet they will start importing from their China partner to increase the profit margin.
