Good website to do audio research on?

Hi all,

I'm not an audiophile but I do like to make informed decisions and purchases. I went looking last night for a very good forum to ask audio questions and get recommendations or that has reviews of components. Everything I found seemed to be dominated by the younger crowd buying relatively cheap equipment and looking for the loudest sound or the baddest subwoofer.

I searched for quite awhile but no luck. Do you know of a good site out there?

I'm wanting to do research for a smallish (8") subwoofer and amp to enhance the existing sound without the bass dominating the sound. I'm also looking for a few answers to questions I have about my ubgraded system...
