    A 2014 BMW i3-REx owner, the article makes no mention of the range extender engine version. More of a People style article, some of the claims I3 technology was picked up by other BMW products remains elusive to me. Regardless, we got ours and it is not for sale.

    The Mini Cooper SE basically uses the i3 drivetrain.

    The advances they made developing the i3 carbon fiber body is going into the CFRP parts of other models. Might even be in the Prius Prime hatch lid.
