I got my snow tires!! I ended up going with 15" rims, and general altimax snow tires.. all for under $600 delivered to my door :) Here are a couple of pics...

Couple of observations. First, not enough snow on the roads, but the little I did find, the tires had great traction. Second, the "feel" is looser. Maybe it's the higher profile of the 15"s over the my tourings stock 16"s?? Could be the narrower width? It's not enough to make a difference on my daily drive, but when the winds pick up or I hit the on/off ramps hot, I notice they wander more?

What is your location? I can see a front plate, so it's not Michigan.

They might also feel "looser" because the rubber compound in snow tires is typically softer than that of summer and all/no season tires.

I'm sure it has something to do with it. It doesn't bother me and nothing a few hundred miles of driving to get used to the new feel. I'm hoping for some good snow so I can try them out!!

Nice. Winter tires make a big difference in handling on snow & ice. You're actually able to leave your house LOL.

Yeah, winter tires have a softer compound, that is normal for the car to feel a little sloppy on dry pavement.
