Every few weekends lately I take my FIL's 05 Prius out for a spin just to keep it exercised. So far, over two weekends, I have driven on two 25 mile jaunts through town and out on a highway to a nice lake and back. Without knowing much about how to properly drive a hybrid the average mpg shows 50.1! I think that is pretty good.

Eventually I hope to be able to buy it from . Can't wait! :p

Yes, it is fun. It took me awhile to get used to the cruise control though. I wasn't used to such a slow gain in speed after tapping the knob up a few mph's. I thought it wasn't working because I am used to my non hybrid car rapidly increasing speed. But then I read the manual and it mentioned the CC will s-l-o-w-l-y increase and decrease the speed of the car. I guess that makes since in an energy conserving sort of way.
