I think this must be new. Some words are double-underlined and green. If I inadvertently mouse over them I get an obnoxious pop-up ad.

PLEASE DANNY: Let's have the long-promised get-rid-of-ads-for-a-fee feature. I understand the need to have ads to pay for this excellent web site, but pop-ups are really obnoxious.

    Thanks.

You see them on this site? Where? I have never seen them here but those things are the worst! I move my mouse around and BAM! I cant read the text because of that stupid popup. I hate those ads! I recently install adblocker plus for firefox. Maybe that is stopping them for me?

I have seen them here, and PriusOnline. Thank God for Firefox and their Add blocker. You do have to block some individually, but 95% are gone once the settings are done.

With the volume of traffic on this website the google paid ads already here should be enough. I manage websites with traffic and we make good money on those google ads and do not need to go for the obnoxious pop up green underlined ads.

I noticed them tonight for the first time ... in Firefox. Not ubiquitous, but in at least one thread.

I noticed one on the "View all new posts" screen, on a "BMW" text. It turns out that the little buggers are actually flash animations, and FlashBlock, another handy-dandy FireFox plug-in, blocks them nicely. When I hovered over the "BMW" all I saw was the little "F" button.

I agree, hate those and it's part of the reason I don't go to POL more. What's the minimum I need w/ Firefox to stop those things...I don't mind most flash stuff, but if it means blocking flash to block the in-post pop-ups I'll do it.

Danny, if you need me to send $20 so I don't have to see that crap I'll do it...but whatever it takes I want it to go away.

AdBlock plus will remove these ads. I just tested it out over on POL.

I put in Adblock plus, but still had the pop-ups.
I found a forum that suggested adding the following to the filters....

    *intellitext*
    *intellitxt*

I still see the underscores but no popups after adding those filters.

Did you subscribe to a filter in the adblock options? I'm subscribed to the easy list USA.

i never subscribed to a list, i just block annoying things on sites i use regularly.

i found out that it's noscript that is blocking the green lines. use it to block scripts universally and juts whitelist sites you trust.

EasyList (USA version) did the trick with Adblock plus. No underscores or popups. Thank goodness.

There's not much I take an instant dislike to, but in this case I'll make an exception. Please, make it go away. Anybody know a Safari fix?

Getting logged off automatically every time I browse another page isn't much fun, either. What's up with that?

Never seen then. Never used Firefox. IE blocks them just fine as well.
