2012 prius 3 Traded in the GTO 6spd. for the Prius 3 Love the gas mileage on this thing. 583 miles on it, 63.2 mpg average, per gas put in the car not the cars computer. Gto was 15-18 mpg. Amazing how much money I was throwing away. Great features. I work for a Nissan Dealer, We have a toyota dealer too - So I got a good deal, sunroof package - Was not thrilled until at the gas pump. Dang I like this car.
You'll find the Prius encourages you to alter your driving habits a bit, because it gives you real time feedback on the consequences of one's driving habits. BTW, great first tank mileage! PS - Now go join Fuelly www.fuelly.com and get your signature updated to show off your awesome MPG skills
Ha, I did, one of our Nissan Sales guys is thinking of a Prius. Let him test drive mine today. He liked it too.
Welcome aboard! That's quite a change esp. in the acceleration department. Those are definitely great first tank numbers. I've never seen numbers that high on my Gen 2. Yeah, it still blows me away to see the insane # of monstrosity class (full-sized) SUVs being driven around in my area solo or w/minimal passengers and cargo. Those folks are throwing away money just like you were...
being at a nissan dealer it has to be tempting to want a Leaf if your drive allows for it and you have a second car or don't go on long trips unless you just would rent one. I also think the same thing when i see all these SUVs the big ones with a family of 1 kid. I am thinking you could get by with any car. it is not your job to be the bus for your soccer or baseball team.
The leaf is limited on range - 80 miles at best. I've but 1100 miles on the prius from 4-27 to 5-11. Lots of driving. GTO got about 15-18 mpg. The leaf is 32000.00 plus 4000 for a charging station, plus I have no where to install the charging station where I live, also it has a very limited range. next year I think it will have a 200 mile range- Still don't want to be limited by a battery. Yes, I know about the tax incentives but still buying the car at this price you have the payment of the 32000 car plus charging station, and it's only a tax right off. So in interest they get it back anyway. I got the prius for 19000 after trade in and discount, with the sunroof package. Love the vent system. At this point, I don't mind the lack of power as long as I get double the range on gas for half the cost, or better. On a guess gas prices will increase over the next few years - so savings will go up for sure. March i spent $475.00 in gas alone - we are at 4.25 per gallon, give or take a few cents. My other car is a Jeep Wrangler, lifted and used for camping and trails - gets about 10 mpg at best. Great car -
Somewhat regrettably, there will never be another new GTO. Pontiac is gone and only with the hi-power V8 version of the current Chevy Camaro do you get even close to it. Though I decry the fuel thirst of musclecars, they did embody an American spirit now absent from today's comparatively bland vehicles.
The goat is a great american icon. It's good ole american muscle. Corvette engine ( i believe ) which is a powerful engine. When driven in a docile manner, my 92 vette could sneak into the high 28 mpg on the freeway. Good luck and congrats with your new prius. maybe you can find another goat at a later date and make it your 2nd ride - much easier on the pocketbook!
Global markets these days boys - your American spirit GTO musclecar was completely designed and built in Australia. Even the famous Chevy Caprice Police Special is designed and made at GM's factory in Adelaide, South Australia...
2011 Prius and a 97 Landcruiser here. LC gets about 13-14 mpg, but I only put about 2500 miles a year on it.
