    Researcher: U.S. could learn from Aussie gun buyback

    Executive summary:
    Automatic weapons were banned, and a mandatory buyback program instituted
    Number of homes with guns dropped 50%
    Over the years, 60% less mass homicides

    The US has accumulated some 300 million guns. I say force the manufacturers to buy them back at half price.
