I used to own a Dodge Ram with the myGig audio system. Some of the guys on that forum took the hard drives out and hacked the software/OS on the unit. They did stuff like uploading custom images and overriding the navigation lockouts.

Now I have a 2012 prius with the 7" HD based navigation unit and I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar? From what I have gathered so far, the unit is running the QNX OS.
There is a QNX virtual machine image that can be downloaded and then once you make an image of the HD you can browse the contents and start hacking. I have not done anything yet, but I am planning to install a subwoofer in the coming weeks. May be the perfect time to take the headunit out and make a copy of the hard drive.
