Hankook Optimo H418 tires.... Anyone has them on a prius ?

The 195/60R15 is almost the right size at 858 revs per mile, compared to the OEM 855. It's S-code is 1003647 with a note that says UTQG 440/A/A. I have no experience with this brand personally, are they low-rolling-resistance? What's their life expectancy?

 

When it's time to replace my Integrities, I'm going to try for a tire that has a few lower revs per mile than 855. The current speedo reads high by a couple mph (i.e. It says 72 when you're going 70). So a tire with, say, 850 revs per mile will help improve the speedo's accuracy.

And I've never had any experience with Hankook either.

How do you know for sure the spedometer is off? What are you comparing it to and how do you know that is more accurate? Not to challenge you or anything, but I'm wondering if this might generally be the case in most Prius and how we could find out.

Several people have reported that their aftermarket GPS systems confirms that the Prius speedo reads a little high.

The "your speed is" signs in my area say the same thing.

I've also tried timing on the measured-mile marks on the highway (the Highway Patrol uses this for airborne speed timing), and it tends to agree.

It's only a couple mph at highway speeds, but I'd rather have tires that help correct the problem rather than making it worse. More revs per mile makes the speedo read high.

 

I had a set of Hankooks on a previous vehicle- worst tires I've ever had.. Very poor traction, didn't wear very well and were very noisy to boot.. I couldn't compare them with the Integrities as I never had them (bought my car 2nd hand, and the former owner already put Hydroedges on), but they were about on par with the cheapest Canadian Tire "Motomaster" house-brand tire- definitely worse than any other "name brand" tire I've ever used..

can anyone of the math whizzes on here figure out what the exact rev per min tire will correct the odometer which is off by 2mph too fast. eventhough 850 sounds right I'm hoping for an exact number. thx
