It's also the Closest New Moon of the Year

I think that the Hebrew months are lunar-based, right?

A tab early to be celebrating the new year, don't ya think? ;)

Reminds me of a Simpsons episode in which Chief Wiggim has a bunch of fireworks confiscated from Chinatown because they're setting them off in February. Or as Wiggim put it, "those crazy Chinese."

    Happy New Year!

Rae, yes the hebrew calendar is based on the lunar cycles. in fact there is a minor holiday every month called rosh codesh that celebrates the new moon. an interesting tidbit is that is a monthly holiday also celebrating women.
Spidey, how did you know my son's name? shalom to you as well, hint, hint
Tony, it's just another reason to eat, drink and be merry.
