Has anyone put in leather yet?

I just had mine done and am not totally satisfied. The seats came out great but the center console and the arm rests have stitching all around the looks a little cheap, to me.

Anyone else have stitching on the top of their center console and arm rests?

I had leather installed in mine and was not entirely satisfied. What I disliked the most is that the seat backs and headrests are covered with a synthetic vinyl Also the stiching on the armrest is not even on the edges. Over all I think it looks pretty good, and I think I can realign the stiching on the armrest. All in all if I had to make the choice again knowing what I know now I still would have had it done.

I had mine done at a custom upholstery shop in Santa Ana, CA. He did it all by hand and matched the Toyota upholstery piece by piece. It was not a kit. It looks great. No stitching in the places you indicate.

$1495 in the SF Bay Area.

The cheapest I saw was $1095 in Burlingame on an eBay ad.

Two-tone (charcoal and light gray) with zero defects. All seams line up, looks perfect. $1000 in San Diego. Company was "AMS" (I think), off of Miramar Rd. Super job, Katzkin kit. 3-hour install by two people.

They covered the side armrests, door panels, center armrest, headrests, etc. and even gave me material for a center dog run.

For those putting in leather... I want to buy the fabric that comes off your seats. Does haven't to be perfect as I don't plan to use in to recover the seats. Let me know via PM.

I special ordered my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with the SLT option: heated leather bucket seats, power everything, the works. It was my first vehicle with leather seats.

I have to admit in winter, very cold, the heated seats were *very* nice. It felt so good ...

My first summer in that thing, and it was a *hot* and *humid* one, I deeply regreted the leather seats. I went for a drive to the hobby farm with my shirt off, and not much A/C just fresh air, and when I finally stopped, I could *not* get out of the seat.

    I'm serious!

My skin was *stuck* to the leather. It took about 5 minutes to literally peel myself off the seat, and I know I left hair behind.

    Never again

Not leather but for some it might interest them. Wet suit material from wetokole.com. Okole means "Butt" in Hawaiian slang. They have some nice color combos plus they're waterproof. If you live near one of their stores, they'll install for free.

Wow. I'm reallly interested in these as my husband and I do a lot of boating and paddling but I have leather seats in my prius. I wonder if they're easy to install (say, for the weekend) and remove (for the rest of the week).
