Has anyone "Redded" out the tails?

    Hey has anyone sprayed the rear tails red similar to "normal" cars? I was thinking about smoking them but decided what about red? So I did a quick photoshop to see what it would look like. What do you guys think?

    It definitley looks different. I dont think it matters with those wheels, lol. Those are nice. I personally like the the clear but would def. be interesting seeing them smoked....

    Haha that was the only good pic of the rear I could find. I like them clear too but making them red is a subtle yet noticeable change to the exterior since most car's lights are red. I can whip up a smoked version too

    The smoked version has been done by a number of people here already, but I think only Prius owners would notice there's something different about "redded" out taillights. The rest of the general population won't detect them.

    I think redded-out taillights would look cool on Barcelona Red. They won't look as bright red as your photochopped pic though.

    I was thinking about this mod since the clears are way too boy-racer for me. Read a few threads about this, I think there is a vendor selling red tails for $999 - ouch!

    I'll just find myself a candy apple red rattle can and try them on mine.

    Definitely agree.

    A paint? Why not a red tint, as that's how some people smoked out their taillights using dark tint?

    You can do it yourself just make sure if you're using candy apple red, mixed a good amount of clear into it so the light can project through it.

    I really like the red tails since its subtle enough for someone who knows the car can tell its modded but it doesn't stand out too much. I'll probably end up with smoke since I'm going with rims that are a similar color to the ones in the picture.

    That actually looks pretty good. I didn't think to smoke out part of it. I'll probably lightly smoke the reverse light area

    I went the easy rout and just switched the yellow bulb to a RED LED for the back turn signals.
    I don't mind the clear /red mix on the lenses I just didn't like the yellow, red and white bulb/led mix. Now they are all LED and RED and white.
