My hatch door is not closed tightly. I can't open or close it. This caused the battery to run down. Got it jumpstarted but I still can not open or close the door. Is there a manual hatch release somewhere?

I don't think there is a manual hatch release. Take it to a dealership, hopefully they will be able to help you.

P.S. - How does this cause the battery to run down?

If the hatch light and cabin ceiling lights remain on because the hatch is ajar, then the 12V battery will be discharged after several hours have elapsed.

The manual hatch release can be accessed as follows:

    1. Lower a rear seat back, so you can crawl into the hatch area.
    2. Remove the folding hatch floor.
    3. Look at the rear of the black plastic tray over the spare tire, and find a small rectangular door.
    4. Open the door and find a small shiny lever which is the hatch release.
    5. Move the hatch release lever, while pressing upwards on the hatch to open it.

Thank you. I will try that in the morning when I have some daylight.
