Have a used 2004 fob. No car. Is the fob now garbage?

    My 2004 Prius is now officially scrap metal. I however still have a leftover fob that was programmed for it.

    Is this fob now useless? Or can I give it to someone with an existing Prius for reprogramming?

    I assume it's useless for my plug-in Prius.
