According to the latest news and all the rampant reporting, I think we all know the only viable answer to this question.

Its too early to tell but it looks like half of us have experienced it and the other half has had this issue.

My Prius is very happy and would never runaway, my wife on the other hand is a completely different matter.

I believe that rampant run-away wives are more common than the run-away prius

I was tempted to vote "Yes" at first because I love my Prius and I hate to admit that it might not be perfect. But I believe in honesty so I had to go with "Yes", much as it pained me to do so.

I voted yes, though I have to admit that mostly I have intended acceleration issues with my Tacoma. It _IS_ a toyota though.

It'll be interesting when she leaves with both key fobs.

I guess that a run-away wife may be more dangerous than a run-away Prius, although both are just hypotheses for me.:yield:

You can have my Fobs when you pry them from the cold dead fingers of my recently departed wife. :p

Does this experience have to be in a Prius?

Or is an Audi 5000 OK?

I have yet to hear about the unintented deceleration problems that I experience on steep hills before the car is warmed up.

Can it be an unintended loss of braking in a different car? I lost the brakes in my sister's Opel GT once and had to pump the brake pedal furiously to get pressure to build.

That did it. I just went out and chained my Prius to the garage. Try running away now!

Prius, no. 3000 GT VR4 (300 hp, twin turbo), YES. Scary thing about the GT incident was that it was NOT my car, and my first thought was my father-in-law was going to kill me ;). Turns out, he installed really, REALLY, thick all weather mats into the car. I took off from a light in full "bat out of hell" mode, and damn if that pedal didn't get stuck. I didn't realize it until I hit second gear, but once I caught on, I just kept the clutch on the floor and prayed for the best. The car hit the rev limiter and kicked back the pedal... no harm done. Thank god for manual transmissions ;).
