Any tips on what MODs work great in the sun/salt/sand environment?

Any benefits of HOV lanes and such?

Do you find you need something like an Engine Block Heater to improve the first 5 miles of mpg?

Are there any groups that get together :) ?

I'm a rookie but I must suck as a Prius Chatter - 57 views and no replies...

Yes. There are some prius owners in Hawaii. But I don't remember who they are.

Maybe we need some sort of member search we can do by location.

You also might want to post under Local Clubs.

    Aloha Papaya Mom,

I would recommend Zaino for paint protection. There's a local distributor that sells from his house in Pearl City. His name is Art and his phone number is 487-7467. Nice guy and will discuss all the products with you.

I also use Aquapel for the windows since it rains so much. It's like Rain X but lasts months and doesn't leave the haze like Rain X does. I get the Aquapel online at:

The 24 pack is the cheapest way to go.

If you're going to tint without the dealer check with T&T Tinting or Al's Tinting in Pearl City if you are interested in the Huper Optik tint.

The sun shade from PriusChat or online helps a lot.

Wet Okole seat covers if you have dogs or go to the beach much. Also the Weathertech cargo and floor mats for the same reason.

There are no HOV stickers that I heard about and the Prius is treated like any other car, you need at least two people inside to travel in the HOV or Zipper lanes. Those lanes do go faster.

I don't use a block heater, I don't think there's any benefit in our warmer climate. If your working out of the Manua Kea Observatory then you might consider one.

I got the extended warranty from Servco. It was expensive ($1700) but you get the entire amount back if you don't use it. You have to decide if that's worth it to you.

Costco for tires when they have their coupon sales. Also the cheapest gas.

I don't know of any groups.
