Looking for some ideas for a hard drive for the CarPC I am building. Was thinking I would use a "WD1200VE" at first but it has an operating temp of 41F - 140F and being here in NW Indiana we see temps in the 20's quite often during the winter season.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

20F isn't too bad. It fequently drops to the 20s and lower here in the winter mornings. Back in the days of my '89 Aries, I had it parked outside all the time (it wasn't worthy of taking garage space). The cold days didn't affect the HD at all. After a few minutes of having the car on, the evironment temp will be at the HD's suggested operating temp anyways. Plus, if it does happen to fail, it'll still be covered by the warranty.
