Head Unit Recommendations

I was looking into CarPlay radios since I have an iPhone but finally realized how limited they were in function. I travel a lot because of work so I wanted to find something that improved my sound, allowed for the use of Waze(and Google maps) and made it easier to use my phone without physically handling it.

Obviously a CarPlay head unit will handle the first and last but not the second. An android unit will help the first and second but not the 3rd.

Any advice?

I assume I can really only use the full potential of the android unit by tethering data since Apple is so restrictive.

Any recommended units that are available now? And does the units that specify fitting a Prius normally come with all adapters to keep your steering wheel and aux controls?
