Headlights stay on after turning off PiP

    With the days getting shorter, I have been leaving the lights on when I park the car in my garage, and rely on the auto-shutoff feature instead. However, today I found out (after someone told me several hours later) that my headlights were still on. As far as I know, if I leave the lights on, turn the car off, and lock it, it should turn off within a few minutes, correct (previous experiences seem to indicate this is right)?

    The only thing I can think of is that I locked the car and plugged it in before the headlights turned off.

    Try this...beside the navigation screen, choose "setup". Once there, choose "vehicle". When you scroll down you will find the selection for headlights. There are settings for 30,60,90 seconds delay. There is also a selection for "off".

    In the vehicle menu, you may want to look at the other settings such as automatic door locking etc.

    Yea, this hasn't changed, and until last night, this has been working 100%. Very strange.

    I had the same problem more than once; now I make sure that the headlight turn off at the time of turning the vehicle off; but I never found a solution to it like you.............

    You need to make sure all doors and hatch is closed

    i think the issue is if you go into the ON position (not READY) when your lights are on, turn off, and do NOT open the driver side front door. that is the trigger. if you reach over from the passenger side to start and check (for example) on your charging status, then turn off, and exit through the passenger side, the lights will stay on forever.
    of course, if you're plugged in, this shouldn't be an issue, because the charger charges the 12V battery too.

    I speed up the process by pressing my key fob's "lock" button twice. The first press locks the car; the second always turns off the lights (if they're still auto-on)

    the only thing i ever do with my fob is play with the little key on the side when i'm bored and fidgety. lol.

    Definitely not the case here. All I did was turn off the car, left the lights on. Then walked to the back of my car, plugged it in, and locked the car. Something I do all the time, except it didn't turn the lights off this time.

    But it wasn't open. All doors were closed when I plugged it in, then I locked it after I finished plugging it in.

    Yea, it has to be a firmware issue, caused by a 'perfect storm'. The only thing I can think of is that I started charging the car before the lights 'timed out', but it's something I'll have to try to duplicate again.
