More often then not now one of my headlights will flicker, or one will go out, or they will both go out. I have lived with it for the last year because simply turning them off and back on was an easy solution. This morning I noticed one of my driving lights was out and turning them off and back on did not fix the issue. Strange it still worked when the turn signal was engaged though?

    Anyway, to the point..
Can anyone provide me a few choices for replacement headlight / driving light bulbs?
Along with a step by step how to on replacing them?

    Cheers and thanks (y)

    They are indeed HID lights.

    If they are oem
There was a tsb for the lights, well worth searching for, there are different bulb choices aftermarket, the dealer isn't necessarily going to be the only option, but first see if the dealer will fix it as a tsb case.

Err, did you install the HID, or is it a used car with a modification, as it's a model 2 and in '06 they offered 9 models?

I replaced the HID in my 2005 at about 110k. They were playing the on again off again trick and one of them had gone pink eye.

Double check what bulb you need. My 2005 took D2R bulbs.

If you have small hands you might search out the luscious garage video. As this was impossible for me I had to drop the bumper and take the headlight assembly out. Here's a good video that actually shows an inverter pump replacement but watch the first 50 seconds of it. Notice the use of vice grips on two of the bumper bolts.

2004-2005 should be D2R, 2006+ should be D4R. Looks like you've got an '06 so it should be D4R.

Here's a link to the TSB info posted on PriusChat:

I found both these videos helpful as they actually show the parts you can't see but need to feel/understand:

    Hope this helps.
