    PC,

Good afternoon! I am new to the hybrid game. I am turning in my Tacoma for a used 3rd gen. I’ve done as much reading on here as I can in preparation for the transition. I have my eyes on a 2011 and I’d like some advice.

    SPECS:
    Prius 3
    112K miles all dealer maintenance
I pulled all service records from my Toyota and have them for reference.
    Big MX completed:
    Inverted coolant
    Engine coolant
    Spark plugs
    Auto transmission fluid
    Filters
    Oil

I purchased Dr Prius and ran the basic tests. No codes thrown, I kept it overnight and here are some screenshots from the app. I also ran the “life test” twice. Not sure how to interpret that.

    Cheers,

    Steven

    welcome!
biggest issue on gen 3's is clogged egr circuit and intake manifold, leading to oil burning and blown head gasket.
the build up takes awhile, but the action usually starts around 100,000 miles.

i'm not sure there is any way to test all this, but if you purchase, that should be your first order of business, along with possible oil catch can installation. and start tracking oil usage

    all the best!(y)

Thank you so much for the response! Any idea if the "numbers" on the battery system look good/fair etc?

    The voltages don’t look bad;).

Hope you get it for a good price:).

Check out the Gen3 maintenance section for maintenance items yet to be done. The videos there show you how to compete them;).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

33BCCCB4-BF49-4728-BEF4-0DCBAC8DBB8E.jpeg Thanks! I am really enjoying it! Averaging 53mpg over the past few commutes so that makes me happy.
