I'm a Newbie from lusciously verdant Western Mass. My Blizzard Pearl chariot came home with me yesterday and I love it so. From some of what I've already read here, I'm thinking I should be driving at least one half-hour every day of the break-in? Oh, and I'll be checking out Fuelly today. I'm so happy to join this great Prius family, so much learning ahead. Looking forward to the sweet adventure.

There are a lot of suggestions thrown around here. I wouldn't become compulsive about the break-in. I've heard stories across the board from babying the car for six months to buying a car in California and driving it home to Chicago.
Also, opinions vary of course, but I'm in the camp of "just drive it" for the first several months. Especially with Winter coming up, it's not a good time to start obsessing over mileage like some of us tend to do. Just get used to the car. Then if you want you can start thinking about mileage in the Spring/Summer.

    Enjoy!

Welcome aboard... and it appears that you are already enjoying the ride so I will forgo that part. Just sit back and relax, the Prius will take care of you.

Greetings and welcome aboard, even though you were not talking to me (I'm one of the not-so-beautiful-Prius-drivers!) :welcome:

    Read Sophia's post.
    Do that.
Mostly, don't worry about the break-in period.

    Good Luck!

Any chance you all have experience with a good Prius certified mechanic in Western Mass? I've used Lia Toyota in Northampton but am not impressed.
