I got my 2010 Prius in late 2020, it has been a 'interesting' time, Lol. I initially got it because I drive far to work and didn't want to drive slow and keep the car I already had. So instead I got a Prius and still drive fast (as long as the Prius doesn't get too hot that is). I live in AZ so the summer is a bit daunting but it alright. So when I bought it I also got the extended warranty at the dealership and I got the good one (they said it covered the hybrid bits) and good thing I did because the transmission completely annihilated itself in less than a month. I hadn't even made my first payment. Well the extended warranty worked and I got a used transmission and towed there completely for free. Was smooth sailing until 2022 when the head gasket blew........................ Well, got that done and all that implies. The OEM 12v battery died last year and idk if it was replaced before but it was a toyota. The previous owner seems to have taken care of it pretty well, it doesn't burn any oil and nothing was broken, my mother may have ripped the bumper off at one point but that's mostly fixed. I also can't keep the underside plastic on, I even got it completely replaced and it still gets torn up too fast. Oh yeah, it had 143,000 miles on it when I got it and now it has 212,000. I replace the oil whenever the car tells me to. Mine is white but since I drive the freeway so much there are always some bugs smashed on the front. As I said above, I like to drive fast (heh heh) but I actually don't put it in Pwr mode as often as you'd think. I cruise control at every opportunity. The brake pads were shot when I got it surprisingly but I replaced them and they're still going strong. Not sure what else to say, I hope I'm not saying too much. Oh yeah it says I joined in 23 but the website never sent the confirmation email and after resending it a bunch of times I gave up until today.
congrats and welcome! sounds like that insurance policy paid for itself many times over. all the best!
