Help asap, roaring engine sound after oil over fill?

    Are you sure he isn't seeing the back part of the exhaust circled in red as the converter, the converter is circled in yellow. Would be better if you had a pic of the underside of the car.

    catalytic converter...GONE!!! Grr. Well thank you all for narrowing this down for me. I was 100% thinking it was oil related.

    Yup hard to mistake that sound.

    You own a Gen2 Prius your gonna get your cat cut off. They are the #1 choice for scumbags.

    And now they know where you live and will be back in a while after you replace it. Not sure if AZ is a carb state if not a replacement cat is about $125 from Amazon plus they chopped and damaged your Cat 02 senor harness so your going to have to buy a new 02 sensor too and have that harness repaired.
    If its a carb state oh lordy....

    Has become so bad in other states police are using cat bait cars:

    Costa Mesa is going after catalytic-converter thieves with bait cars (msn.com)

    I just saw one of those signs in Costa Mesa yesterday. Nice to see some cities are taking action.
