The catalytic converter of my 2012 Prius got stolen 3~4 months ago in the SJ area, been waiting for the OEM part, and as a result, the car has been sitting in the shop for 3 months now. I am now considering purchasing an aftermarket one yet I'm not sure which one and where I should buy it from, I hope to get some recommendations from the forum. Also if possible I would also like to know if there are any places where I can get the OEM version. Thank you! and hope everyone in the forum has a wonderful day.

I don't know about Prius specifically, but Walker USUALLY makes good aftermarket replacement units - at least better than most (cheaper) brands. Talk to a GOOD independent (ie. not chain) exhaust shop.

I believe Magnaflow is the only California approved aftermarket catalytic converter. I’ll wait for other California residents to respond but start looking into that brand.

It'd be wise to get your hybrid battery charged and balanced before you start driving the car again if you want to avoid having to replace it... You can build one here: Build Hybrid Battery Maintenance Gear For Under $100 | PriusChat

Or you can buy the more expensive consumer version from Maxx Volts or Hybrid Automotive, or just find a mechanic that has gear that can do this.

I just got the Magnaflow 5631455
CARB legal very pricey but the OEM is not being made anymore and stock is very limited.

WOW, I just looked up the price out of curiosity (I don't live in CA), but one thing for sure - I'm not moving to CA anytime soon...

I'm sure the pricing for anything CARB compliant takes a big premium. The Walker EPA version (so not CARB) runs about $600ish.
