Hello everyone. Is there any documentation out there on how to remove the headlights? I think I read somewhere that you have to remove the whole front bumper cover? Is this true? If so is there maybe a work around to make this go as smoothly and as fast as possible? Thanks for the help, Brandon

Hey, what are you up to with removing headlight assemblies? Keeping yourself busy?

I have a repair manual at home to look it up. I'll PM you some info.

I do not know the OP's motivation, but according to autopia.com, some detailing chores may be easier if the headlights are removed.

Yeah I'm planning on installing some HID's in the stock assemblies here in the next few days and wanted to get a head start on figuring it all out.

    Thanks usbseawolf2000, I appreciate it. :D

The service manual says to remove the LH and RH front fender liners and then remove the front bumper cover. The reason you have to remove the bumper cover is that there are some screws holding the headlight assembly that are only accessable with the bumper cover off the vehicle.

You shouldn't have to remove the entire nose. There's a way
to detach enough around the fender liner and the end of the
bumper cover to allow bending the nosepiece aside just enough to
access that pesky third bolt on the headlight assembly.
Unfortunately I haven't done it or I'd have shot pictures, but
I did see some auto techs do it at one of the training classes
and it didn't take very long. If you pull your fender liner,
a la this pic, or even just the front part of it, there should
be some obvious attachment points for the nosepiece.

Yeah it would be nice to not have to remove the bumper cover completely.

I'd be curious to find out the easiest way possible to remove and reinstall these assemblies. If I could find out which screws to remove to just shift the bumper forward that would be awesome, thanks.

Thanks everyone for the help so far.
