Hi all, I just went throught he procedure to get rid of the Maint Reqd light and now my 2009 Prius will NOT go into anything but Neutral or Park. Yes, I depressed the brake. I think I hit the brake when powering back on during the reset....maybe that's it? But HOW to get it to drive again?????? Super frustrating and late for work!!!!

When the car is not starting, many times it's the 12v battery that's low. When was the last time you changed that battery?

Also what procedure did you use to reset the maintenance light? Did you do any maintenance?

thank you for the reply. I ended up calling the Toyota help line and they helped me diagnose it. Unhooked the battery and hooked back up. It worked. Ugh. Thanks again for the offer of help....EXTREMELY appreciated. I was freaking out! Looks like I did the Maint Reqd procedure wrong, maybe touched the brake when I was turning it back on w/ ODO button depressed. Cheers!

This should not be the cause of your no start. I would have your 12v battery checked ASAP so you don't get stranded

Or make sure the ground connection to the car is tight.
