    Hello all,

I have a 2015 Prius 2 and as you know the H11 headlight bulb is pathetic.

I am attempting to upgrade to an H9 bulb. I picked up a H9 Philips off Amazon:

I snipped off the inner plastic piece inside the socket but still cannot get the bulb to either lock in place or snap into the harness adapter.

Is this the right type of H9 bulb or do I need a different one?

    Thanks.

Maybe you removed the wrong tab inside the socket? Double check, also you have to remove it all the way down to the bottom of the socket.

You don't need an adapter, it might be your problem... Try fitting your modified H9 onto the oem headlight plug, I bet it fits (if you cut the right tab out of the socket properly).

Someone else bought a harness/adapter and got a 9005 type plug with widely spaced sockets. The H11 sockets are spaced closer together. Maybe that is your problem?
