I don’t know if anyone reads this, but I need help diagnosing my car. I currently have a 2008 Touring Prius. It has around 160k miles. When starting the car, everything is fine, but when changing the car to “D” the car shakes back and forth. It does the same on “R.” The “red triangle of death” also appears, but thats because my battery isn’t doing well. I wonder if the battery has anything to do with the engine.

Hopefully I can get some help, I would really appreciate it.

Since the warning light is or was on you have fault codes in the memory. Read the codes and post them here so we could help.

Best would be to use Techstream. Cheap way to get it is Mini-VCI. Then you could use it to read the codes and all freeze frame data. If you can post all that here we can surely help.

If your battery has the RTOD it has failed. Your in limp mode and drivability will be severely impacted.
