I was "DOGED" and while looking for gainful employment am taking on some long overdue home chores.

Found the woven synthetic weatherstrip that is glued to the window screen frame is coming off. I may have fixed this a few years ago. If so, I can't recall.

Any tips on what adhesive I should use? I included the only two I have on hand in the photo.

I would replace it with new material, or use contact/rubber cement, possibly?

Contact/rubber cement is applied to both surfaces and allowed to dry, which doesn't take long, as it is solvent based. Then, when the pieces are pressed together, it forms a really strong bond.

Those other two adhesives/glues are applied wet, and need to be held in place (usually clamped) somehow till they are dry.

Thanks for the help. Purchased the cement. cleaned the old adhesive off. Waiting to put on new adhesive until I can get a helper as an old injury sometimes makes my left hand shake when I am trying to do projects that require fine motor control and do not want rubber cement all over the screen.

You don't need very much rubber cement on each surface, just a thin layer on each side will do.

If there's an applicator brush built into the cap, you can draw off the excess against the side of the opening as you lift the brush out of the can and repeat on the other side of the applicator brush. Then for subsequent application, dip just the tip into the cement and apply that amount by spreading it with the brush into a thin layer.

Let dry, then press the two surfaces together. You'll be surprised how strong the bond is.
