HOV decals in California are close to being all gone!

After a month with no updates, this week the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced that as of May 11, 2015, they have issued 68,992 Green Clean Air Vehicle decals, indicating that they only have ~1,000 remaining available to issue (the maximum number of decals available is 70,000). This is a big jump from their last update on April 11 when they communicated there were more than 6,700 remaining. The ability for Dealers to preorder stickers for inventory has been suspended. A representative from the DMV today advised that they are still processing a backlog of applications one month ago, and they are unable to advise whether or not future applications will receive a sticker. As such, in the interest of customer satisfaction we encourage you to exercise extreme caution and refrain from promising customers HOV lane access for units that do not already have an approved sticker.
