My (early) 2018 Gen 4 Prius here in Spain doesn't have the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS). I know that most questions here regarding the PWS re about how to get rid of the UFO sound, but is there an easy bolt-on solution to ADD it to my vehicle? Possible? Part no? Process? Please? :)

Added "VPNS" or Vehicle Pedestrian Notification System to the title since that's the term used in North America to help members understand what you're referring to =).

    Sure. It's easy.
Trade it in for a model that HAS that feature already.

While I don't know for sure, I strongly suspect that adding that will be
neither easy nor cheap. And maybe bordering on impossible.

Out of curiosity, why would it be bordering on impossible? Isn't it just a speaker (~100 EUR/USD) that engages when the car is in drive and the ICE isn't engaged? What other components would be required? This doesn't feel like the same level of complexity as those that ask to add BSM, ACC, or IPA posthoc.

On my previous vehicle (Geo Metro) I purchased and installed a small backup alarm that wired into the reverse light and announced "attention please!, this car is backing up!" whenever I was in reverse gear. It was cheap...from J.C. Whitney company (AKA: J.C. Whip-me. ) But, they are long gone. What happened to J.C. Whitney? Here's a nice whimsical account: JC Whitney: The Rise and Fall of an Automotive Icon - Curbside Classic

I would like to switch mine from the Toyota speaker to the Tesla speaker. Not sure if it would sounds the same. The Tesla one changes tone as the car changes speed.
