My Prius V five recently went dead. AAA restarted it. The MPG display is gone. I have tried resetting the trip meters, but still no MPG.

Let's get the obvious out of the way first.
How far have you driven it since it was "restarted" ??

If the battery was dead......or disconnected.....the MPG history was LOST and you have to drive it far enough that miles and gallons can be measured to do the math again.

I drove about 25 miles on a local freeway to help charge the battery. I noticed on that trip that the MPG numbers were missing.
On the next day, I read the manual and reset the trip meters and drove 5.2 miles. After that drive, there was still no MPG values, not even a 0 or 99. Usually when I reset a trip meter, it starts working immediately when I start driving.
    Thank you for your reply

Guess you could try disconnecting the 12 volt battery for 10 minutes or so.
Or maybe the 12 volt battery is bad.
