I know I could look in the manual but then I wouldn't be posting on here. And I haven't posted for along time.... How is everyone?

I know the SE/SS is easy to program (im sure it is) just wondering what you're thoughts are on having the drivers door open all doors on contact?

    Thanks a trillion,
    -Rob

HI Rob, doing fine here, :) . Unsure of your question. You can reprogram the Fob to unlock with 1 push of the unlock button, with the scan tool, but I haven't found anywhere in the manual that you can change the touch pad on the handle to unlock all the doors. I'm sure if you live where there is not much crime, that would be ok. But in the bigger cities I would assume most people don't want all the doors opening for safety reasons. But where I live my daughter and even my wife and I have left windows down at night and have not had any problems. Lucky I guess nothing was missing but it did rain in my wifes one night. But guess who cleaned it,

It made my girlfriend happy. This way, if the Mad Killer is after us, she won't have to wait for me to unlock the passenger door from inside.

You can open all doors by opening the passenger-side door first through SKS, when normally it's only the driver's side door. Of course you should always open the door for the lady first!

There's other options to change the defaults in the owner's manual.

Page 30 of owner's manual, page 5-2151 section f of repair manual.

Hold unlock and panic button for 5 seconds with car off.
1 double beep - each door separate, except passenger which will unlock all doors.
2 double beeps - all doors operate all doors
3 double beeps - Driver's door will unlock only driver door, passenger and hatch unlock all doors.

Does not affect wireless door remote function.

For that, page 34 states the dealer has to change that. However, by default one wireless unlock press unlocks driver door, two presses within 3 seconds unlocks all doors. Page 5-2228 of repair manual confirms this.

So we can change the SKS functions but not the keyless remote functions? that's odd

In a small suburban neighbor hood, we see a fellow with fob pushing buttons and the car beeping in different patterns. a person walking their dog strolls by and says, "What are you doing?" the fellow replies simply, "Oh, I'm just reprograming my car."

    Correction

Just tried this and you have to use the LOCK button, not the unlock button to get the function to work. At least that was the case a few minutes ago on my 05 Prius.
