How do you pronounce it?

    I just watched one of those Prius videos, and they are talking about the "Pry-us". I've been calling it a "Pree-us" Which is correct? I don't want to mispronounce my new car's name!

    You've been doing it correctly. As the word is Latin, the proper pronunciation is definitely "Pree-us."

    A coworker has been learning Latin, and it got me thinking... Should the pronunciation be "pree-oos" if it's pronounced in Latin?

    I prefer the Japanese pronunciation: "pu-ri-u-su" (poo-lee-ooh-soo). :)

    You are correct. It should be the long U sound of "oo". If I were singing the word, that's how it would come out. When I say the word, I do shorten the U sound.
