My wife dislikes the beeping of the seat belt warning after she gets the mail and drives down our 1/2 mile driveway. Can it be done?

Pretty sure I saw some mention of this when I was using the latest TIS software and mini-VCI to customize other settings (lowering the turn signal blink sound and disabling the dash light strip) I'll take a look again and post screenshots of the relevant option when I get a chance.

Kinda annoying that Toyota doesn't put all of these settings accessible via a normal GUI, instead of just randomly picking some and not bothering with the rest, leaving it up to the user to ask the dealer to do changes like these (at least assuming the owner's manual even mentions it's possible to be changed by the dealer, that is)

There’s one very simple way to turn off the warning. Not trying to be clever clogs; it is a simple action, takes a couple of seconds.

leaving it off for a private driveway could lead to other, I’m just going round the block lapses?

too, any time you’re rolling along, say around 20 mph, if something outa the blue happens, say a wasp blows in, deer on the road, stroke, seatbelt might help.

It's a decently fast car, quarter-mile is 15 sec at 95mph, you should be able to make the end of your 1/2 mile driveway and top out at 105mph in 23 sec. I guess I don't understand why she can't put up with the seatbelt warning for 23 seconds.

According to my dealer they can use their scan tool to disable for $49. It's the same price to disable one thing or any number of annoying issues so bring your list with you.

May be a little late for this, but dealers will usually disable it at no cost when you bring it in for the free service. Or ideally (as I did with my 2018 Prime), have them disable the reverse beep (is it still beeping inside the car with the new Primes?) and the driver's safety belt warning.

Dr Prius apparently will do this. Still, simplest workaround, and it’ll serve you well, is just always buckle up.

Thank you, Mendel. I'm ordering an OBD2 adaptor after Dr Prius support answers my question whether or not they support 2023 LEs and XLEs. I'll report back. Their webpage says it works on 2000+ years (I don't trust it to be up to date). Have a great week.

Ugh, sorry you got burnt. Maybe contact them, I'm sure it's in their best interest to rectify. May take a while.

Peter Neilson answered my DrPrius question, "Does DrPrius support 2023 Prius?". He said "Yes it does support Gen 5". I bought a Carista OBDII plugin. After much testing, Carista says they do not support Gen 5 Prius. Returning Carista today to Amazon, who said there was a compatibility guide which I never found. I will be taking my wifes LE to Toyota Rochester when she gets 5000miles on it for tire rotation. I'll ask them if they will turn it off. I hate to have to trade cars again just to keep peace with her. On second thought, it would be worth it.
Wish luiet83 would get back to us about what he found.
    Happy thanksgiving.

It “might” be illegal for dealership to do this, or they may just be concerned about someone blaming them, if a customer had that done, then was injured in an accident. Dang it, talk her into buckling up?

Ok, thanks "GoodOldBob". I found a pair that looks like they will work on the 2023 Prius from Amazon - $10 delivered. sounds like a reasonable work-around - What really bugs me that DrPrius, (Peter Neilson) said "DrPrius supports the 2023 - "Yes it does support Gen 5" - a direct quote. I beg to differ, it might support some things but he should have given me a "not all". Will keep you informed.
