On my commute (45 miles) the last 10-15 are in heavy traffic. Conversely , on the way home the first 10-15 miles are in heavy traffic.

My question is: if I charge the Pip at home before I leave in the morning, will i be able to run in ev mode after 30 miles of highway driving?

    iPhone ?

Assuming you started your trip in HV mode, then yes you would be able to save your battery charge and switch to EV mode for the remainder of your trip. Note that when you first start your trip, you may lose a tiny bit of charge while the engine is first warming up (about the first minute) and the car is running on mostly battery power.

Yes, you can. Just switch to HV mode from the start (EV mode is default if battery is charged).

Some EV miles would be used up to free up space for regen power. You should still have about 10 miles left to use later.

i lose about 25% of my ev charge when starting out in hv mode. everyones experience seems to be a little different, but you should have 10-12 miles left when you hit the stop and go. and you might get more because stop and go uses very little juice.

Actually stop and go uses more battery than just go at say 20 mph. While you get some recharge at each stop it take more energy to get up to speed than was captured in the recharge.

I wouldn't say you lose it. You just used it up.
