I'm seriously considering buying a new Prius (so far I'm just doing internet research before I hit the lot). I havent' been able to find the following:

How many power input ports does the 2007 have in the cabin? Either AC plug or cigarette lighter plugs. Are any in the rear cargo area?

I currently have a Mazda Tribute and am spoiled with 3 cigarette outlets (2 on dash and 1 in rear). I'm constantly using them to run iPods, GPS and other electronics.

    Thx

There are two power ports and they're 12V. There are no 110V outlets.

One is in the lower dash on the passenger side, the other is in the centre console. There is none in the rear.

    You can always add.

Darell has added added a third power outlet, and you can get a inverter if you want AC.

<_< Owner's Manual, Page 2, Item 11 and Page 3, Item 10 detail the 'power outlets.' These 12v outlets are not 'live' when the Prius is 'off' to avoid draining the very small 12v accessory battery which starts up the computers when you press the "POWER" button on the dash. Once the Prius is 'turned on' power is drawn from the 201-volt Traction battery through the Invertor under the hood.

im beginning to think that every toyota manufactured since 1987 runs its cig lighter plugs that way

i saw directions for a mod that lets you run when the car is off but they arent very clear

I prefer them to turn off when the car isn't running, my wife used to constantly run her battery down on her Taurus by leaving her xm radio plugged in or her cell phone charger.

I'm with you Morpheusx... I leave my ipod plugged into the power outlet essentially 24-7... And like my previous Honda, the ipod will not sit there silently charging, drawing down the car battery, when I shut the car off.
