How much for tint?

    How much should I expect to pay for window tint? I've never gotten any of my cars tinted before, but I've always wanted to. I've called around to a few places in my area and they're all quoting between $200 and $225. That seems like a lot... but I don't know much about it.

    $200 is the norm from a pro. $40 a window, is standard these days. The man I deal with (a tinter for dealerships) was pleased that the rear window in my C was going to be easier than the strange rear window of the gen III.
    Like I said I know a guy. I paid $135

    Paid $200 for all windows except windshield and small glass on tailgate. That was the cheapest quote I had too.

    I'm actually surprised by how we were all quoted the same amount regardless of where we lived haha. I figured the price would vary a little at least. Thanks folks, I was hoping it wouldn't be this expensive, but at least I know I'm not getting ripped off ;)

    I had the back door windows and rear hatch window tinted for $190. (The front door windows would have been an additional $60, so I passed on them.) I am going back in on Wednesday to get a 6" strip across the visor area for another $40.

    This is the 4th vehicle they've window tinted for us and we've been happy with their work, but alas, no discounts for repeat business...

    In Puerto Rico I paid for all windows 35% tint for my PC3 $80.00 later I post pics

    I bought the kit from ebay. $44. it is not a perfect job, but save money. :)

    I used a mobile tint guy out of Novato, CA. $300 for Llumar CTX 5% rear 50% front
    He used a heat gun and seamless edging on all four roll down windows, overall great job. photo 1.JPG

    I must have gotten a great deal I got 15% all the way around and 50% on the front windshield and it was 190 out the door. Had I opted for no tint on the front windshield it would have been $110 out the door. He does a great job and hes tinted my last 3 cars.

    Can you see normally with 50% on the front windshield, specially at night? I guess it's legal in FL to tint it, it's not in CA but the shop told me if they put 70% or more cops won't see it.

    Actually I was going to go with 70 but he suggested 50% and honestly when you are sitting in the car you cant even tell that the windsheild has been tinted

    I wish I could go darker than 35% in Oregon. And that I could tint the windshield some. It's almost not worth $200+.

    A good proportion of the respondents to this thread don't seem to be worried about whether their tint is legal or not. Has no-one ever got a ticket for excess tint?

    Kinda funny I wrote this at 6:30 this morning. Called another auto place at like 10am and they said it would be $165 haha. This may have to happen.
