I tried to do a search but couldn't find a good how-to thread. Does anyone know the proper way to disconnect the 12V battery? I'd rather not wing it and get electrocuted.

The 12 vdc battery is a bit of a PITA to get to, but I have found it helpful to disconnect the actual ground wire bolt first. IN this photo

the terminal nearest the camera is the positive, the one further away with the little white rubber band is the ground.

12V will not electrocute human (higher resistance - small current flow thru human body).
Anything below 40V is pretty safe as far as human is involved.

That said, disconnect the (-) terminal, not the (+).

What they said, but: why do you want to disconnect it?

Sorry, I don't know where there are clear online instructions for accessing the battery.

Richard - I'm finishing reupholstering the seats in my car with leather, and I'll need to disconnect the battery because of the front seat airbags.

Thanks for the info guys! :)
